What Happens Post Health Care Bill Passage?

Once the Senate health care bill passes, the Democrats will scramble to "fix" all the ideological issues that are not met in the bill. The abortion provision will reappear. The Medicare cuts will reappear. And, along with those two items, there will be all sorts of tax increases begin to show up and it will become clear how the private insurance companies will be emasculated. This will be done in the same manner as we have seen, or not seen, up to this point. These changes will be made and implemented behind closed doors, with only Democrats in attendance, and as many of these changes as possible will be made as regulations and not under law. The legislative process, as directed by the Constitution, will be circumvented and these things pushed upon WE THE PEOPLE with no input. At the same time, every effort will be made to post date these changes until after the mid term elections in an effort to "hide" all this from WE THE PEOPLE in the hope of electing as many Democrats as possible in the mid terms. Beginning in January of 2010, there will be billions of dollars from the remaining stimulus funds poured into any districts needing help to elect and reelect Democrats. I hope and pray WE THE PEOPLE will do our own thinking and see all this for what it is. It will be difficult to sort out with the media not reporting most of it.

The Health Care Bill Will Pass!

The health care bill will pass. Even though it was written by special interests, no one knows what is in it and it is written in a way that allows it to be changed at will by career, entrenched politicians. It doesn't matter what is in it. It will be changed to be whatever the politicians want it to be and it will eventually include all the things the Democrat controlled congress desires to put in it. That is why it is so important to do all we can to stop it. All the arguments taking place over the past week or so are nothing more than political rhetoric. The fact is, this is a done deal! I have been faxing my Senators with a plea to scrap this bill and incrementally go to work to change any perceived problems in the health care system, through the proper legislative channels, as written in The Constitution. I have no hope this will take place. The replies I have received tell me it matters not what I think or what WE THE PEOPLE think. What is happening is a subversion of the Constitutional process at the expense of WE THE PEOPLE.

Do the Polls Lie?

Why is it that all the polls are showing more than 50% of WE THE PEOPLE are AGAINST the proposed health care reform, believe the President is failing, Cap and Trade is bad for the economy, Card Check is bad for the economy and Global Warming is unproven science and still these programs are moving forward? It proves the point that our government believes it knows better than WE THE PEOPLE on all of these issues. Add to that the recent polls showing Congress is less to be trusted than anyone. It proves these proposed programs are not, in any way, about WE THE PEOPLE but about ideology, personal agendas and political power, designed to further the power of career, entrenched politicians and special interests with deep pockets and the means to own politicians.

The Insanity of Government

Any person capable of comprehensive thought must be appalled at what is happening in our government. All things considered, what is most disturbing is the fact that congress believes the voice of the people is meaningless. More importantly, as I wrote in The Stimulus Tragedy, is these career, entrenched politicians believe the people are unqualified to have any say in government. They believe, and prove it in their words, programs and votes, that if it were not for them, "the masses", as the President says it, could not function. I also said in The Stimulus Tragedy that "there are millions of Americans more aptly qualified and competent to serve as President than the current President", and this becomes more evident every day. There are so many things happening in our government it is impossible to keep up with it. That is what these career, entrenched politicians want. Since "the masses" are incapable of making the decisions necessary to operate the government, they must make these decisions for us. The only solution to this insanity is to remove any Representative having served more than 4 terms and Senator serving more than 2 terms. And thereby breaking up this mentality that WE THE PEOPLE are incapable of comprehensive thought. And, this must begin to happen in the mid term elections of 2010. I personally believe it won't much matter if these newly elected are Democrat or Republican. The fact that these newly elected are in their first term, WE THE PEOPLE will have some control over them, at least in their first term. then evaluate the newly elected and replace them as soon as they get "bought off" by special interests and knuckle under to the pressure of the party system of which they are a part. It happens in both parties. In The Stimulus Tragedy it was written that our government works best when the makeup of Congress is close to evenly divided between the left and right views. This is the best way to keep either side from running away with government with blind ideology and personal agendas separate from the the will of WE THE PEOPLE.

I've Been Slackin'

It has been some fall. Too much going on in the political world to be gone that long, but it has been very busy the past while. I will get back to work on recent issues now. Don't know where to start. I pray this Senate bill is defeated. As I mentioned in an earlier post and in my book The Stimulus Tragedy, it is very difficult to ever reverse social legislation. Should this bill pass it is going to be impossible to control it. I just came from one of my offices and sending faxes to my Senators. Begged them to turn their hearing aids on and hear WE THE PEOPLE.

Times Continnue to be Interesting

The times we are living in are exciting - and very frightening. Federal Government is totally out of control! The question is, what are YOU going to do about it? Opportunity is knocking and if America wakes up all this insanity can be reversed. Personally, I believe it is already happening. So, that leaves the question, how bad will it get before this change is evidenced in DC? It appears to be happening now. What WE THE PEOPLE must do is keep the heat on our congressional delegation. Should these clowns get back to work and the pressure stop, they will revert instantly back into their old ways. KEEP THE HEAT ON AMERICA, especially you seniors!

Greatest Day of 2009 for America!

This is the greatest day of 2009 for America! I salute Bill Clinton!

Whatever political gyrations or hocus pocus may have gone on in North Korea, this is the only positive thing that has happened for America this year. Two Americans are alive, well and safely home.

Repeal 22nd Amendment?

NY Representative Jose Serrano has introduced H.J. Resolution 5 that would repeal the 22nd Amendment restricting Presidents to only two terms. This ridiculous proposal shows, once again, what is happening in America with regard to these career, entrenched politicians and their lack of touch with WE THE PEOPLE. Serrano is but another of the entrenched that must be removed from office. I would propose this as an alternative. How about the repeal of the 17 Amendment instead? Repeal of 17 would break up the power of the lobbyist forever, giving control of the Senate back to the States, where it was intended by the Founders to be. This alone, would solve many of the problems in the federal government. I would propose the States convene and, as a unified body, declare the sovereignty of the States as granted by the Constitution and at the same time retake control of the federal government by repealing the 17th Amendment. Texas, Utah and Montana have already taken the first steps in this direction. Wake up America and follow through.

The Stimulus Tragedy has been published 90 days!

When The Stimulus Tragedy was published, April 1, it was intended to be a wake up call for America. Even this author is surprised how accurate the message has proven to be. The situation in America is much more critical than I expected. This is mostly due to the House passage of Cap and Trade and the election of Al Franken. Cap and Trade was not addressed in The Stimulus Tragedy. At the time of the wriring there was not enough known of the proposal to do much with it. What is most disturbing with Cap and Trade is how the House pushed it through with no one having the opportunity to read it or debate it. It is the sitmulus bill in rerun. The subversion of the due process of the Constitution is what makes all this so frightening. The career, entrenched politicians are on a run away! The only thing they are concerned with is increasing THEIR POWER. It has nothing to do with what is best for America or WE THE PEOPLE. As I talked about so much in The Stimulus Tragedy, as long as these career, entrenched, professional politicians remain in office, nothing can change. Now is the time for WE THE PEOPLE to stand tall and take individual responsibilty for the future of America. FAX your Senators with your views on Cap and Trade and do it every day. The entrenched pay no attention to emails, do not read our letters and jam up the phone lines so we can't get through. The only thing they see that makes any difference is the pile of paper generated by the FAX. WE THE PEOPLE are individually responsible for the future of America!

Read My Lips, NO NEW TAXES!

The promise of no new taxes for 95% of Americans has gone out the window! The proposed Cap and Trade Bill has passed the House and is headed for the Senate. It is a tax increase of massive proportions - the largest in the history of America! With it goes the promise that elected the President! It proves, one more time, that the promise of no new taxes was a lie! This legislation has been in the works since the 1990's. The proposal has already made Al Gore a very rich man. It is now poised to make hundreds of millions of dollars for a select group of individuals and large corporations, at the expense of WE THE PEOPLE. With Al Franken now in the Senate, the defeat of this bill becomes more unlikely. Many in the Senate have stated that this bill will not pass the Senate. I believe it will. The career, entrenched politicians will push this through, over and above the objections of WE THE PEOPLE. THIS IS ABOUT POWER AND NOTHING ELSE! Sadly, the little guy, the 95% of the people government claims to be "looking out for", those the entrenched call "the masses", are the losers, as they always are. Cap and Trade will be paid for by families, low income earners, retirees, the worker and small business. All is not yet lost! FAX your Senators! Do it now, do it daily and keep it up until Cap and Trade is voted on in the Senate. Wake up America! It is up to us and we are individually, ultimately responsible for the outcome.

What Will Cap and Trade Be?

My guess is that Cap and Trade will be enacted. This may sound like a negative, but it may not be. America needs to wake up. This may be the wake up call. If it does pass, the best thing that can happen is for it to be implemented immediately so the affects will be immediate. This legislation can likely be changed over time if it turns out to be as costly as expected. If, in fact, this legislation does cost every household in America $2700 annually, it may mean the demise of many of those voting for it. If this bill passes and America wakes up, many of these career, entrenched politicians may be voted out of office and that may save America. It will be better to have a Cap and Trade bill passed that needs to be changed then a social program like Socialized Medicine.

Cap and Trade Vote Coming Friday!

The Cap and Trade bill is reported to be 1000 pages! None of the House members have read it! It is my hope that WE THE PEOPLE will make ourselves heard before this bill is voted on in the House on Friday. I hope enough Americans will fax their Representatives so the pile of paper against this legislation overwhelms them all. DO THE FAX! Emails and phone calls help, but piles of paper will have more effect. I posted about what his will do to America a few days ago.

The Sanford Downfall.

I have been thinking about how to write this post all day. This situation with Mark Sanford is so sad, it is difficult to write about. To me this is not about the man as much as it is all those people going down with him and being hurt by this. It's about the wife and those four handsome young son's of his. It's about SC and America. Mr. Sanford made choices and those choices have consequences, for a large number of people. Anytime a public figure destroys themselves, they always take many with them. It is not for me to judge Mr. Sanford. But, why do these people with so much going for them fall into a trap like this? And, why do so many political figures fall into these traps of sex, greed and all sorts of perversions? Only God knows for sure. What makes this situation so bothersome to me is that this man was on the Hannity TV show just days ago talking about God and doing the right thing, when at the same time he has this going on for 8 months. It seems to me a political death wish. A Lutheran minister friend of mine told me many years ago that "a man can rationalize anything" and I guess this fits. To me it is baffling. This is not a young kid. This is a super successful man with years of life experience. Why is it that we see so many celebrities, athletes, rich people and politicians destroy their lives and their family's lives? I don't have the answer. I will say another prayer for Mr. Sanford, his wife and those young son's of theirs.

Cap and Trade Exposes the Lie!

Cap and Trade exposes the Obama lie that taxes would go down for 90% of taxpayers! The cost of Cap and Trade is estimated to cost every household in America $2700 annually. That is a tax increase! Carry that a step further. How are low income people, senior citizens, or retirees living on fixed incomes going to deal with this? The very people these career, entrenched politicians propose to be the most concerned about will be hurt the most. As I mentioned in my book, The Stimulus Tragedy, the family, the worker, the elderly and small business, which is most of agriculture, will suffer most. Every insane proposal the entrenched come up with pushes the country closer to revolution. WE THE PEOPLE must remove every politician voting for all this spending and these ludicrous ideas!

Cap and Trade and Agriculture

Cap and Trade will destroy agriculture in America. My heritage is agriculture. I was raised and worked in agriculture most of my life. Agriculture is very dependent upon energy. Second only to water (see earlier post) energy is the most important requirement of agriculture. Cap and Trade will destroy agriculture and the government will react by forcing all agriculture into farm programs and thereby increasing the power of government, once again. When will WE THE PEOPLE wake up and understand that all these programs, spending bills and bailouts are about building government power and THAT ONLY! The career, entrenched politician is addicted to power and will do ANYTHING to increase it. Cap and Trade will also force the cost of food dramatically higher. What will happen to the economy when food prices rise 20-40% as a result of Cap and Trade?

Clunker Fiasco

Our government is totally out of control. It gets worse by the minute. It is impossible for a career, entrenched politician to come up with a shred of common sense. As I said in the Stimulus Tragedy, it is not possible to spend yourself rich. I hope and pray that America will wake up and stop this insane spending. Sadly, until these career entrenched politicians are voted out of office, nothing will change. WE THE PEOPLE must understand this is not about anything other than power over the people. We are living in tyranny from within, and that is fact. I do believe WE THE PEOPLE will wake up at some point, I just hope we are not all living on the streets when it happens.

Water, Not Oil!

The insane ruling by a federal judge to protect a minnow in California brings to mind a chapter in The Stimulus Tragedy. Chapter 23 Water, states "Over the next 100 years water, not oil and not global warming will be the crisis". This may be the most critical issue facing America in the future. A growing population, global uncertainties and crazy politics are pushing America into a water crisis. Read The Stimulus Tragedy and put water on your critical issues list.

Did you see the stack of paper in the Socialized Medicine bill?

This morning I saw a camera shot of the Senate hearing room. The pile of paper stacked up in front of those Senators must have been 18 inches deep! That is a lot of paper. What came to mind was that there is no way any of those Senators will ever read it all and if they did they couldn't remember everything in it. Which means they didn't write it! It is written by staffers and bureaucrats. And, that is what is wrong with our government. Until these career, entrenched politicians are voted out of office there will be only more of the same. This Socialized Medicine proposal is nothing less then a bureaucratic bonanza at the expense of WE THE PEOPLE. As I wrote in my book, The Stimulus Tragedy, none of this will work. Government will run it like the Post Office and Amtrak, the taxpayers will see tax increases of 10 - 20% to pay for it and the quality of care will go down. It can't be any other way! Wake up America!

We are living in the most critical time in American history!

Only the Civil War posed the danger to America as where we are today! The history of America will be shaped for all time by the next four years. History may well record that the outcome of the mid term elections of 2010 were a new beginning or an end to America. Unless WE THE PEOPLE remove enough of these career, entrenched politicians in the next elections and balance the power in congress, the damage may be irreversable. The Stimulus Tragedy was written on this theme and the means to do this is described in detail, as are the results of not taking this action. It is not about Republicans and Democrats. It's not about the President. It's about career, entrenched politicians, of both parties, that have lost contact with WE THE PEOPLE. Unless aggressive, positive and immediate action to remove these people is taken, America may not survive. Everything described in The Stimulus Tragedy has already been put into motion. Only WE THE PEOPLE can stop it and only then if we act in a rational manner at the polls in the mid term elections of 2010.

Small business is finished!

Small business is finished, unless WE THE PEOPLE wake up and stop this insane spending. Small business cannot support what the government is doing and small business IS America. Small business cannot support socialized medicine. Small business cannot support higher taxes. Small business cannot support more government intervention, controls and regulation. America thinks the unemployment rate is high today, but it is nothing compared to what it will be in two years if this insane government spending continues.

Tobacco is only the beginning!

The new tobacco tax is just the beginning of new and higher taxes on everything. As I wrote in my book, The Stimulus Tragedy, the easiest tax to sell the people is a sin tax. Under the guise of better health, the government has taken the easiest route towards increasing taxes. Obama was elected on the promise of lower taxes for 95% of taxpayers. Of course, this is absolutely impossible. The signs were all there. The Senator with the most liberal voting record in congress is now the President. It is so predictable. It could be no other way. What will happen is new taxes and user fees will begin to show up in virtually every area of our lives. These career, entrenched politicians are looking at every possible way to raise money. The only way this can be done is by increasing taxes or printing funny money. They are doing both. Our federal government is spendaholic. They must have more and more money. I don't blame Democrats for this. They have been spendaholic for ever. I do blame Republicans. Until Republicians find the courage to run conservative candidates the country is in deep trouble. There must be a balance of power for the government to function properly. Today there is no balance and congress is loaded with career, entrenched politicians that are only concerned with partisan politics. There are no statesmen in our government. It may be time for WE THE PEOPLE to let the Republicans destroy themselves and establish a Constitutional Party that has the courage to put the individual rights of the people first, as intended, to stop this insane spending, abusive intervention and control. Sadly, we have seen nothing yet. There is much more to come.

Whatever happened to the bra burners?

In the '60's the feminist movement was big news, worldwide. Bras were burned, street demonstrations, free love and all sorts of feminist expression prevailed. The coming of age modern women asserted themselves in public and private life. What ever happened to these free spirits? Their voice is gone! They are not to be found!
What would have happened in the '60's if a woman and her family were attacked as Sara Palin and her children have been attacked this week?

Do you know someone in the auto industry?

What is going to be the effect of the government (which is us) and the unions controlling the auto industry? Every American knows someone working in the auto industry. If you drive a car you know someone working in the auto industry. If you own a mutual fund or retirement fund you most likely own stock in auto. Every local community depends on the auto industry. There are dealers serving every community in America. It takes management and sales skill of the highest level to operate an auto business. It makes no difference if it is a new car dealership, a used car dealership, a repair shop or as a supplier. It takes skill and capital to operate them all. If the government (us) owns the auto industry that means we must come up with the capital to operate the businesses. How does the government raise capital? TAXES, or by printing FUNNY MONEY! We are going to have to pay more taxes to operate the auto industry. Since the US auto industry has been unprofitable for decades due to excessive government regulation, labor demands and poor management, how is more of the same going to change anything? It won't! The fact is with government and labor managing auto, there is only one way to go and that is down. And that means we will have to pay more for autos and more in taxes. Already the government has subverted the Constitution by assuming this control, minimizing the private capital positions in Chrysler and GM and arbitrarily closing thousands of private dealers and confiscating their inventories. Every American has a stake in this in some way. Your families and friends are losing jobs and businesses as a result of this idiocy. Local communities are losing tax revenues and services. There is a snowball affect to all this and we have just seen a minute beginning of what is going to happen. And, as I discussed in my book, The Stimulus Tragedy, these companies need to be broken up and liquidated through the normal channels of bankruptcy. That has not happened and now the American taxpayer is hooked into a hopeless spiral of doom in this situation. There is now no way out for the American taxpayer as long as this administration and this misguided group of career, entrenched politicians are in power. Every American is going to pay! We will pay more for autos, be forced to drive autos we don't want and pay more in taxes to support an industry the government can't manage. And this is just auto! The same thing is happening is banks, insurance, corporate pay and now health care. When will the people of America wake up and stop this insanity?

The Tiller Tragedy

It is always a devastating event when someone chooses to take another person's life. Unfortunately, the killer is not rational and unable to understand the consequences of their actions. In the Tiller case there were legal actions pending to determine the legality of his late term abortion practices. Because of his murder, the outcome of these legal actions will not be known until another late term abortion doctor is investigated. All that said the crime of murder is not acceptable, ever. What is interesting is that the same media that has been condemning enhanced interrogation are coming out in support of Dr. Tiller's practice of late term abortions. Interesting bit of hypocrisy?

GM to Fail?

The Stimulus Tragedy was published April 1. The following is written in Chapter 18 of the Stimulus Tragedy: "Those companies that have received bailout funds are coming back for more. They will keep coming back and coming back. They are unsuccessfully operated companies and have been living on poor management, greed and speculation for years. Government can't save them." Unfortunately for the US taxpayer, the career, entrenched politicians can't read and don't care. It's not their money. Sad. Wake up America! Biden, Pelosi, Clinton, Reid, Etc.

Biden, Pelosi, Clinton, Reid and a host of others are going to awaken America. I believe there are so many of these incompetents in the current administration that it is inevitable their combined efforts are helping to bring a lot of Americans to their senses. I was in a meeting with 9 successful small business people today and the entire conversation regarded the negative nature of the direction of America. Several of these people voted for Obama. They are not yet ready to admit a mistake but they have doubts. That is the beginning and it will blossom into big changes in the 2010 mid term elections. Keep the faith! The career, entrenched politicians must be voted out of office! The Stimulus Tragedy discusses this.

The President is Coming Apart!

I have been in sales and marketing for a lifetime. Reading body language is something I learned through experience in marketing my services since I was 12 years young, and I'm quite a lot older than that today. Obama is breaking down. When I saw him with Netanyahu I thought he looked very drawn and defensive. When I saw his defensive anti-Cheney speech today it became very obvious he is coming apart. Unlike people like me that have a lifetime of work in the trenches of small business, management and marketing, he has never been pushed to the limit. He has never been under so much pressure or forced to make tough decisions while fatigued to the point of dropping. I doubt if he can hold up for 4 years of this. That is one reason I said in The Stimulus Tragedy that there are millions of Americans more qualified to serve as President then he is.

Where Have I Been?

I have been managing small businesses. That is what I do. It takes a lot of time and energy. I may slow down, however, if all the insane tax and spenders have their way. It may not make any sense to do what I do much longer. Hopefully, America will read The Stimulus Tragedy and take aggressive, positive and immediate action to turn all this around. If not, I'm shutting down everything I don't absolutely need. I promise I will not work 80 or more hours a week creating jobs for people if I am excessively taxed and regulated. That would be insanity, too!

Will Pelosi Go Away?

Nancy Pelosi is still in a position of power in American politics. It has been a week since the Pelosi Torture Fiasco became the headliner. She remains in power. I have seen no person of common sense come forward to say anything other than she should go away. My thoughts are mixed. If she goes away, an unqualified partisan is no longer in the number 3 position of power in the country and that is good. If she stays, it is a huge deterrent to Obama acheiving his insane tax and spend policies. I am leaning strongly toward her staying as being in the best interest of America. It will be much more difficult for the free spenders to complete their agenda with Pelosi right where she is. This controversy is a great thing for the country. Eventually, the CIA will leak information that will allow Pelosi to sink her own ship, which I believe she has already done. The Stimulus Tragedy continues to be right on the mark.

Pelosi Says CIA Lied to Her

Nancy Pelosi says the CIA "lies to us all the time"! She's Toast! How could anyone be so lost as to say something like that. Even if it's true, to say it means the end of her career. Tonight on FOX News, Charles Krauthammer agrees and says it has happened before. I look for the CIA to release proof that Pelosi know of all of it and all she has said regarding it has been lies. It will be very interesting to watch. There is an old saying "What goes around, comes around". I think Nancy Pelosi is about to find out what that means. If enough of these diversions come up it is going to slow down the Presidents agenda and get us closer to the mid term elections. Keep the pressure on your congressional delegation as sugessted in The Stimulus Tragedy.

Baucus Says Tax Employer Paid Medical Insurance.

Montana Senator Max Baucus proposes taxing employer provided health insurance. The hypocricy of these career, entrenched politicians know no bounds. When are people going to wake up and vote these selfserving partisans out of office? The Stimulus Tragedy is all about the Max Baucus type career politician. Herein lies all the problems with America. It's not about Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc., it's about the congress and these lifetime, career, entrenched, blindly partisan politicians. The reason we are in such a crisis at this point in time is that there is no balance of power and there are so many of these clowns in office that the constitution is subverted on every turn. It's not about Democrats and Republicians, it's about partisan politics and the only way to stop it is to vote these bought off career politicians out of office. Wake up America!

The President, in a speech to the graduates of AZ State attacks all successful, hard working, entrepreneurial and independent individuals. Second Amendment and States Rights

As written in the Stimulus Tragedy, the feds are going after the Second Amendment, not because of guns, but because it opens the door to repeal of the First Amendment. The aniti-gun movement has never been about guns. Oh, the Brady Bunch and some of those think it is, but they are being used by the extremeists to further their cause and that is total control of the people. Remember, the career, entrenched politicians believe they are much smarter that we are and that we need them to manage our lives. Wake up America! Read The Stimulus Tragedy and take agressive, positve and immediate action to save America!

Dow at 3000?

What happens when all this insane government spending is in place and there are no buyers for the debt that comes with it? The Stimulus Tragedy states that there are massive amounts of "funny money" in reserves to finance the new debt. As this money is released, inflation will run wild and the economy will not be able to sustain it. We don't need a degree in finance to see the results of all this. A DOW at 3000 is a very likely possibility. America must wake up and stop the spending!

Carrie Prejean and Courage

Carrie Prejean is my latest appointment to the Highest Courage Club. This young lady is amazing. Not many people would have the courage to stand tall as she has in attack after attack from hateful people. She has courage, principle, poise, grace and dignity and those are traits of the highest order. I put her up there with Alan Keyes for courage.

Pelosi Trapped in Her Lies

Nancy Pelosi has trapped herself in her own lies! This is fantastic! The more "The Entrenched" say and do they prove The Stimulus Tragedy right and that is going to be what awakens America and turns this mess around. Hopefully, it will happen soon enough to stop the insanity. Realistically, a lot of the damage is likely to be done before the mid term elections can remove a bunch of these career, entrenched politicians. As I wrote in The Stimulus Tragedy, the root problem is in congress. Obama would not be able to run wild if there was a balance of power and these entrenched politicians were voted out of office.

Biden and Card Check

VP Biden says today that Card Check is an administration priority. Surprise, surprise! Well, I wrote about Card Check in The Stimulus Tragedy. This too, must be defeated. Without going into everything you have already read in my book, this is a state issue and must not become a Federal law. It will destroy tens of thousands of small businesses, and that is you!

Cap and Trade

It's time for all Americans to stand up and defeat Cap and Trade. This bill will be a devastating blow to small business, families, low income and fixed income Americans. There are no words to describe how seriously this proposed bill will burden Americans. Every American must contact their congressional delegation and be be very firm on this issue.

Alan Keyes Arrested!

I need to speak my mind on this one. Alan Keyes is perhaps the most courageous man I have ever known of in modern times. That says a lot, as I have a blessed lifetime history of associating with courageous people. He has very strong beliefs and is totally fearless in standing tall for them. I salute him in his efforts! Trillions!

The budget is now reported to be $1.8 Trillion! What can I say? My children and grand children are doomed - unless WE THE PEOPLE wake up and take agressive, positive and immediate action. I hope the families, the workers, the young and the small business people in America wake up and stop this. The Stimulus Tragedy was written to get this message out to as many people as possible.

Power Corrupts!

It is always interesting to watch what happens to people when they are placed in a position of power, success and/or influence. Power, sex, money and alcohol/drugs are the major corrupting influences in any successful person's life. We see famous and successful people destroy their lives on a regular basis with abuse of one or more of these influences. As I have watched this take place many times over the years it seems that the 4 big corrupters win about equally. But, all things considered, I believe power is the most dangerous. Too much power concentrated in one place, person or ideology can be deadly to the bearer and the receiver. I believe we are seeing the effects of this in the American government at this moment. As I wrote in The Stimulus Tragedy, America runs most effectively when there is lively debate on major issues and a relative balance of power. Today, the power is heavily loaded in one direction and that is a negative for America. Due process is being subverted as a result and that is just part of the problem. The inevitable result is that power corrupts and when that happens WE THE PEOPLE will take the action to change that balance. I believe we are there now. I believe WE THE PEOPLE have already seen enough to make the change. Hopefully that will come at the mid term elections and a bunch of these entrenched, career politicians will be voted out of office.

Buffett Says!

Warren Buffett says there is a chance that US Government debt could reach 80% of GDP and that it will likely happen in 2011. Buffett also sees unemployment continuing to rise to unknown levels. As reported by moneynews.com. That does not bode well for small business. There is no way to stop the Obama ramble before 2013. About all we can do is drive hard for the 2012 elections and hang on tight. It could be a wild ride for the next two years. What if nothing changes in 2012? The Stimulus Tragedy goes into that in detail.

What do all these people have in common?

Gingrich, Jindal, Romney, Huckabee, Palin, etc. None of these people are electable! This is the core of The Stimulus Tragedy. All the reasons why are discussed in the book. It will take a charismatic, young, constitutional conservative as candidate for the Republicans to win in 2012.

Fairness Doctrine

The Stimulus Tragedy talks about attacks on the Second Amendment as a stradegy eventually aimed at the First Amendment. I have even stated that I believe every American should join NRA to protect the First Amendment. It's not about guns - never was and never has been. The Fairness Doctrine rejuvenation is particularly interesting. The government has figured out that they are fighting a losing battle in attacking the Second Amendment through gun control. Praise the NRA for that! So, they have actually decided to plan a stategy of going after the First Amendment by reviving the Fairness Doctrine. The Stimulus Tragedy talks about the back door approach to tax increases, which we are already experiencing in a host of ways. This Fairness Doctrine issue is coming the same way. Again, this is not about anything representing balance in the media. It is rather about government control of media. What is happening in this country is, in fact, socialism. Call it what ever you chose, it is socialism. The Stimulus Tragedy is right on.

Could Alan Keyes Be Right?

Alan Keyes has offered the most terrifying prediction of things to come. It is something worth reading, if only to see his perspective. The Stimulus Tragedy has a chapter titled "Worst Case" that is in line with Mr. Keyes thinking. Hopefully, nothing like this will ever happen. Sadly, the predictions of The Stimulus Tragedy are becoming closer to realty every day. Since last Friday, the government has launched an attack on the First Amendment, the entrepeneur and small business. The Stimulus Tragedy is becoming more relevent each day.

Why I Wrote The Stimulus Tragedy

When the House passed the first draft of the Bailout Bill, I was so infuriated that I started writing in my journal and with the encouragement of one of my sons, I began the book. It grew into much more than I originally intended and the final result impressed those reading the draft copy. This was the only way I could see to begin to have a voice and take part in returning the government to WE THE PEOPLE. I remain hopeful that at some point enough copies of the book will be circulated to wake people up and that they will unite to make a difference. I do not consider myself a writer. Since I have written the book I qualify as an author, but I have never had any aspirations of being a writer. The book reflects that and is a very hard hitting and direct approach to positive constitutionally based change for America. The Stimulus Tragedy was finished and published April 1. One of my sons helped with some editing and another published the book on Create Space.

Small Business Unite!

Small business is going to have to wake up and take action to stop this insane growth of government and runaway spending! There is no one else to do it. The challenge is that small business people are so busy trying to survive they don't have a lot of extra energy. But we must take aggressive, positive and immediate action! Small business drives this country. Most workers and families depend on small business. Small business is where we will find the qualified candidates to unseat the entrenched career politicians that are the root problem in government. That is why I wrote The Stimulus Tragedy.

Why Do I Do This?

The reason I do this, in answer to my last post, is that I love to work! Hopefully, I will be able to keep working, producing and paying taxes. Those options are becoming more difficult to do, year by year. One very successful, hard working person I work with tells me his unadjusted taxes are now over 60%! How can that be? Federal and state income taxes, self employment tax, property tax, business taxes and licenses, auto licenses, personal property tax and some others, total over 60%. He is hopeful he will be able to find some deductions to reduce that some, but he is in a commission income business, so the deductions are minimal. His solution - to slow down his production for this year. It makes no sense to him to keep charging and give it all away. He says he will buy nothing and work and earn less, as a choice. I am looking to do the same thing. Small business is no longer willing to do it all and pay it all. This is not an isolated instance. Unless something begins to change and that means less taxes and less government interference, many of us are going to slow down or quit all together. Small business drives this country and that is fact. The Stimulus Tragedy goes into all this.

My Small Businesses

Today I have been running as hard as I can go to keep my businesses running. As I slow for a short break, looking at what our government is doing, I wonder why I am doing this. Why am I charging around in an effort to make a few bucks so I can give it to a government laced with entrenched career politicians so they can waste it on bailouts that don't work, socialized medicine that won't work and all sorts of other insane spending that takes me nowhere? I don't have to do this anymore. There are a lot of other people benefiting from my efforts, as there have been for many years, but am I? This is what The Stimulus Tragedy is about. When I can get slowed down again, sometime tonight, I will answer that question in another post.

Chrysler Bankruptcy, Short?

Will the government let the bankruptcy judge do the job or will the government subvert that process, too? In my book, The Stimulus Tragedy, I talk about bankruptcy. The process is in place for a reason and should have been used to begin with rather than the bailouts. If Chrysler and GM would have entered the bankruptcy process initially, they would now be well on the way toward finding qualified buyers to manage them effectively and profitably. My concern is that a "short bankruptcy" for Chrysler means the bankruptcy judge will not be allowed to work the process as prescribed by law. I see another subversion of due process, also talked about in my book.

Legislative Reconciliation

Can the budget bill plan passed by the House be stopped? Yes it can! But, the House included in the plan legislative reconciliation. That will make it very unlikely that the final bill will not pass. In my humble opinion reconciliation is a subversion of due process granted to WE THE PEOPLE by the Constitution. Due process is a major point in my book The Stimulus Tragedy and is being subverted by both parties. Senate Expected to Pass Budget Bill Today!

The Senate is expected to pass the $3.4 Trillion budget bill later today. I am afraid my children and grand children will be living much of their lives like Cubans, as discussed in my book The Stimulus Tragedy. Their is no possible way for America to support this level of spending, and we are just seeing the beginning of it.

Again it has Happened!

I am in shock. Even though we all knew it had to happen, it just makes the heart stop. I am so sad for my children and grandchildren. The House of Representatives has passed a $3.4 Trillion budget bill on a 233 - 193 vote. WE THE PEOPLE must wake up and vote out every Representative voting for this! The survival of our country depends on it!

The Hypocrisy of the Entrenched

Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Spector is now a Democrat! The Stimulus Tragedy continues to have more and more relevance in modern day politics. Since I am not a Republican or a Democrat this situation means much more to me. How far away from the constituents can a politician be? What Specter represented himself to be is not what the voters ended up with. Spector admits in his news conference today that he votes the way he believes over and above what his constituents believe. It validates my point in The Stimulus Tragedy that these entrenched career politicians are the base problem with government. More important than the President and more dangerous. WE THE PEOPLE must make it our primary goal to remove these long term career politicians from the government, regardless of what party they claim to represent. And, replace them with sincere constitutionally minded people that will serve WE THE PEOPLE rather than themselves. The hypocrisy of these entrenched career politicians knows no bounds and they must be voted out of office!

The Mexican Threat

It did not even enter my mind that the Mexican Threat would first come in the form of Swine Flu. Now it becomes the highest security risk. What action the government takes to isolate it becomes the big question. Will the government do the right thing and take serious action to deal with this, or will political correctness prevail and no action or weak action be taken? My guess is that political correctness will prevail and any action will be weak and reactionary rather than strong and positive. Time will tell. Unfortunately, time is of the essence in a situation like this. I pray that this will not develop into an epidemic as has been the case in past history. Whatever happens it is a big test for the government and will give us a good idea of what to expect in any other crisis that may arise. Personally, I have little faith in the government doing the right thing. As you read The Stimulus Tragedy the reasons I feel this way will become evident.

It's Already Happened!

This week the Obama Administration admitted that taxes are going up! As I have written in my book, The Stimulus Tragedy, this had to happen. What is surprising is that it happened so quickly. I really expected the government to do everything possible to delay this announcement until at least next year. What this shows us is that the arrogance of Obama and the hypocrisy of this government know no bounds. It will be interesting to see what the public reaction of this announcement is going to be. I believe it will make little difference in public opinion initially. Until the voters, particularly within the Obama crowd, actually are forced to pay these taxes will the tide begin to turn. No one wants to be wrong and until some time has passed and the Obama crowd is actually paying these increased taxes will these people admit it is actually happening. Sadly, by that time it will be too late to change a lot of it. It can be changed, over time, but a lot of harm will already be done. However, that changes nothing. The plan outlined in The Stimulus Tragedy and the implementation of it become even more important.

Tax Day Tea Parties

Yesterday was an interesting day in many ways. First, not as many people showed up as I had hoped might. Part of that was due to very unfavorable weather conditions in many parts to the country. The areas with good weather had fair turnouts.
What I really was most interested in was how many hecklers would show up and how many problems they would cause. There were few hecklers and as I watched the coverage it became apparent that those people not in agreement with the no-spend, no-tax ideals were afraid to be heard. That is very exciting! As I say in my book, The Stimulus Tragedy, even those purporting to be fans of the big spend, big tax policies know in their hearts that it is not the right way to go.
The only real hecklers I saw were from CNN and the clip I saw on FOX News made this particular woman look pretty foolish.
Now we all need to focus on the mid term elections of 2010 and follow the plan outlined in The Stimulus Tragedy, taking aggressive, positive and immediate action.

There is a Danger in the Tea Parties!

For those of us planning to be a part of the Tea Parties coming on April 15 there is a danger. There will be elements attending these Tea Parties that will try to discredit them by inciting vandalism and violence. Plan to take your cell phones with you and be prepared to take pictures of any person attempting to disrupt the event. Then give those pictures to police. It would be most unfortunate if any of these events take on the violence of the the European riots of last week.

Insurance Companies?

Now it is insurance companies that need to be bailed out. The insanity never ends. Now that the President is back in America he can get Congress refocused on spending more money. It is unbelievable what is happening. WE THE PEOPLE must wake up soon or the idiocy may overwhelm us.

Book Sales Began Today

The Stimulus Tragedy is in print and the first book sales began today. The project turned out beautifully and I thank L. F. and Bud for their encouragement and assistance. For me, this is an exciting time. The message is now circulating. It is my hope that people will find and read the book and begin to take aggressive, positive and immediate action to heal our great Nation. I believe that enough voters have already come to life to have a major impact in the 2010 elections. One election will not solve the challenges America faces, but it will be a positive beginning. The Tide Is Turning

There is hope! WE THE PEOPLE are waking up! These Tea Parties are catching on and it now looks like April 15 will be a great day.
It remains to be seen if this will be enough of a threat to The Entrenched to wake them up. Most likely as long as these career politicians remain in office nothing of real value will be gained. The 2010 elections are a long way off and until then much more harm will be done. Maybe public sentiment will slow the train enough to keep some of the worst of this spending from taking place.
Keep the faith and take action, as written in The Stimulus Tragedy, and what harm has been done can be undone. It won't be easy, but it can be done.

The Situation Worsens

Never in the history of America has government done so much to destroy the Nation in such a short period of time. WE THE PEOPLE are beginning to realize the seriousness of what is taking place. It is a frightening series of events.
However, there is a bright side. As the insanity continues, WE THE PEOPLE are beginning to wake up. Most Americans are behind the curve and it has taken some time for the brevity of the situation to register in the minds of most people. As WE THE PEOPLE wake up, read The Stimulus Tragedy and think about all these events, sentiment is beginning to turn. An opportunity is being created to right the wrongs and there is more awareness of the importance of the mid term elections.
America may find the discipline to turn this around. That hope is exciting!

The Nation Weakens

There is a provision in the proposed federal budget bill to continue with a 45% death tax (inheritance). The passing of estates to heirs is one of the biggest capital generators for the country. For true stimulus, the inheritance tax must be eliminated. The quickest way to a balanced budget is to remove all forms of inheritance tax. Under Bush it was to be reduced to 35% in 2010, but the Obama budget will leave it at the current 45% rate. Inheritance tax is cruel and unusual punishment and destroys the life work of many small businesses, agriculture in particular. And, it is double taxation. This is nothing more than idiocy. It proves my points in The Stimulus Tragedy.

As the Stimulus Tragedy nears publication, the message of the book becomes more critical. Daily the Nation moves into even more dangerous territory. We now hear about expanding limits on business to include the salaries of all major business executives. This is not only terrifying, but unconstitutional. Publishing Update

The Stimulus Tragedy News

My new book, The Stimulus Tragedy is about to be published. Hopefully, within the next week. Create Space will be the publisher and you will be able to purchase directly from Create Space by going to the link on this blog.

This has been a very exciting project. Initially, I had this idea when the House of Representatives initiated the original Stimulus Bill. I began to write my thoughts in a journal and shared these thoughts with my son, L. F. Twigg. He urged me to continue to write with the understanding he would begin editing and do the publishing. When the text was completed, another of my sons, Bud Twigg, did an edit and I went through the text, made a few more changes and submitted the final product to son L. F.

As of today, the book has been submitted to Create Space for approval and we expect receipt of a proof copy for our review over the next few days. Upon our review of the proof, the finished book will be approved and published. This could happen as soon as Monday, March 30. Our goal has been to have the book available for purchase by April 1.

We look forward to your reading of this book and that it will begin to be circulated as a wake up call to America. My ideal for this project is that Americans will find the book, read it and take agressive, positive and immediate action to save and heal our great nation.

America is experiencing interesting and challenging times. The media is filled with news of bailouts, big business failures, massive job cuts and high unemployment. There seems to be no end to the bad news. Government's approach to these events is to throw unbelievable amounts of taxpayer money at them. There is no end in sight to this runaway government spending. Is government spending the solution to America's economic woes? Can the country sustain this level of spending? Is this government spending permanent and progressive? Are you, as a taxpayer, prepared to pay more and more taxes to support this spending? How will our government secure the loans required to pay for the actions being taken?

If a Trillion $1,000.00 bills reaches 63 miles then it would follow that if you stacked a trillion $1.00 bills it would reach 63,000 miles. The moon is at an average distance of 238,855 miles from earth. So a trillion one dollar bills would go more than a third of the way to the moon. 3 trillion then, would be a stack of bills all the way to the moon. It’s hard to even produce that much paper. I wonder how many trees that would take. Certainly it sounds environmentally destructive.

It seems to me that we should be concerned about how this money is going to be borrowed, from who and on what terms. Concern for paying back a loan is considerably affected by the loan terms and who the money is borrowed from. If an American citizen considers pursuing a loan, BEFORE deciding if borrowing money is the right strategy, we must evaluate the various lending methods available. We decide, after considering our ability to repay the loan, if the terms of the loan will be reasonable enough to justify taking out the loan. In many cases the terms available, because of conditions that might affect the lending market, are too steep and the option of borrowing is declined by the borrower. As a result, other solutions to whatever dilemma or opportunity that inspired the question of borrowing must be pursued.

“Too steep” meaning that the costs of the loan outweigh the benefit that may come from using the money to the ends that have been proposed or considered.


The definition of secured loans from Wikipedia -

A secured loan is a loan in which the borrower pledges some asset (e.g. a car or property) as collateral for the loan, which then becomes a secured debt owed to the creditor who gives the loan. The debt is thus secured against the collateral — in the event that the borrower defaults, the creditor takes possession of the asset used as collateral and may sell it to satisfy the debt by regaining the amount originally lent to the borrower. From the creditor's perspective this is a category of debt in which a lender has been granted a portion of the bundle of rights to specified property. The opposite of secured debt/loan is unsecured debt, which is not connected to any specific piece of property and instead the creditor may satisfy the debt against the borrower rather than just the borrower's collateral.

There are two purposes for a loan secured by debt. In the first purpose, by extending the loan through securing the debt, the creditor is relieved of most of the financial risks involved because it allows the creditor to take the property in the event that the debt is not properly repaid. In exchange, this permits the second purpose where the debtors may receive loans on more favorable terms than that available for unsecured debt, or to be extended credit under circumstances when credit under terms of unsecured debt would not be extended at all. The creditor may offer a loan with attractive interest rates and repayment periods for the secured debt.



Let me provide an example

A loan shark might offer terms that include criminally high interest rates. In the event of default on the loan, consequences might include physical mutilation as well as the confiscation of properties far beyond the value of the amount leant.

We see examples of this in movies, but what is easily forgotten, is that this really happens. Maybe not to the masses, but it does happen. The American viewing audience generally perceives those suffering the consequences of not being able to repay the loan as getting their “Just Deserts”. We assume that the terms were known and if that person made the choice to enter into those kinds of dealings, that they made their choice with the consequences in mind and thusly deserve what they get. Americans do not rise up to overcome the evil loan sharks because the actions of those suffering led to their plight, no matter how perilous.

Would it not then, seem important for us to be concerned about the deals we will need to make to acquire the incredible sum that we are borrowing? Why has it not been a major part of the decisions regarding the stimulus package and it’s validity? Shouldn’t that have been discussed first? Who, in the world, has enough extra lying around to loan that kind of money and why? Where did it come from? What exactly does a country, like say the United States, offer as collateral for securing a trillion dollar loan? To what ends could this leverage be applied? If it is possible for a country or entity to build up reserves of capital like this, why are we, who claim to be the most prosperous and powerful nation in the world, in debt?

These are basic, common sense questions that are not exclusive to the rich, or highly educated. Very few Americans reach the age of 18 without learning that loan sharks are dangerous to do business with. They also learn that if choices like those are made, consequences will follow. Has America become so deluded and arrogant that we believe that there are no longer consequences for our actions?

Examples of the consequences to American citizen borrowers for not doing adequate due diligence in regards to loans are can be found in the justifications for the bank bailout, the Stimulus Package and the state of the American economy. Borrowers sometime don’t always effectively evaluate their ability to repay loans and instead borrow simply because there are those who will loan the money. The responsibility of the lender of the lender ends with the lender providing clear terms in writing to the borrower. If the lender provides written terms that include the possible consequences, then the borrower bears the responsibility for accepting the penalties that they have agreed to in the event of default. If the lender chooses to loan money that might not be repaid, then it might be considered that the lender made a strategic choice that leads to the lender benefitting from the act of executing the terms of the loan in the event of default.

It seems to me that borrowing money is a big deal and that choice should not be made lightly. The more money borrowed, the bigger deal it is. So how big of a deal is it to borrow a few trillion?

What are taxes?

The definition of taxes from Wikipedia -

[To tax (from the latin taxare: to estimate, which in turn is from tangere: to touch) is to impose a financial charge or other levy upon an individual or legal entity by a state or the functional equivalent of a state. Taxes are also imposed by many subnational entities. Taxes consist of direct tax or indirect tax, and may be paid in money or as its labour equivalent (often but not always unpaid). A tax may be defined as a "pecuniary burden laid upon individuals or property to support the government […] a payment exacted by legislative authority."[1] A tax "is not a voluntary payment or donation, but an enforced contribution, exacted pursuant to legislative authority" and is "any contribution imposed by government […] whether under the name of toll, tribute, tallage, gabel, impost, duty, custom, excise, subsidy, aid, supply, or other name." ]



This means that in order for any individual’s tax burden changes to be determined, all government collections in any form and of any kind must be itemized and broken down per individual before compared to previous years total tax burdens. The taxes based on wages or other earnings collected by state or federal government are only a portion of the taxes paid by American citizens.

In other words, an evaluation of an individual’s tax burden must include any money collected by the government that in any way creates a change in the value of the dollar of any American citizen. Any additional taxes, fees or levies placed and collected by the government on the production, distribution or sales of fuels, agricultural products, or any item that will eventually be sold in the form of goods or services to the American citizen is a tax.


Let me provide an example.

When the price of fuel goes up, the value of the American dollar, in regards to purchasing fuel, goes down. $10.00 buys fewer gallons of gas at $4.00 per gallon than it does at $1.00 per gallon. When $10.00 buys 10 gallons of gas, it is worth four times more than if that same $10.00 buys 2.5 gallons of gas.

If the price of fuel were to go up by four times because of taxes collected by the government, then the government is responsible for devaluing the dollars spent on fuel by four times.
That devaluation then needs to be applied to the entire tax, fee and levy burdens on the dollar before any tax cuts can be truly claimed.

Washington is not concerned with being held accountable for these kinds of claims, because WE THE PEOPLE have not expected any accountability from our politicians. We have submitted to their will so many times that they are emboldened in their claims. They expect WE THE PEOPLE to accept their word as fact, because that is the precedent that we have set.

To make a claim regarding tax cuts is an American right. To run for the office of President of the United States under that claim implies knowledge of the subject. Enough people assumed that President Obama knows what he is talking about and believed that he was trustworthy enough to elect him as the President of the United States.

People liked the tone he took during his campaign of transparency of government. He told us we would know who was doing what and why.

Enough people have come to show concern about our current economic situation and the inevitable tax consequence that it is time for that promise to be kept. The government needs to open the books on all levies, fees and other taxes that have already been implemented, are being implemented currently and are proposed. That is only half of the solution. The other half of the solution requires national participation by WE THE PEOPLE.

While it is unlikely that all of the people of this country are going to actively participate, many can, should, but have not. It is time now for the people that have made America the most powerful nation in the world to assume the responsibility that comes with freedom and power.
